They say it takes a village, and I think they’re right!

Listed here are a few of my favorite people in the wedding industry, all of whom I have worked with personally, whether for my own wedding or others!

  • Photo of Cate Barry seated with her arms crossed and leaning on the back of a wooden chair

    Photographer

I met Cate at a friend’s wedding in the summer of 2019, and I knew pretty quickly I wanted her to be our photographer too. During our engagement photoshoot, she made us feel comfortable and beautiful, and on our actual wedding day she kept us calm, collected, and feeling (and looking!) our best. And we’re lucky enough to call her a dear friend, too!

  • Jeweler

A couple months before our wedding, my wife and I had the incredible experience of making our own wedding rings under the guidance of jeweler extraordinaire Maria Levin, of Sawtooth Jewelry in Troy, New York. If you want rings that absolutely no one else will have, because you made them yourself, I cannot recommend this experience enough. Maria is, without a doubt, one of the coolest people I have ever met!

  • Venue

Our intimate wedding was held at South Dominion Vineyard, a small family-owned winery amongst the rolling hills of Cambridge, New York. We had our ceremony under a chuppah (which I tie dyed myself a few days before our wedding!) in the middle of the vines, and then ate lunch in a cozy tent by the post & beam barn, which serves as their tasting room. Come for some delicious wine, stay for the used book store on the second floor. And don’t forget to say hello to the sheep!

  • Photo of Sage Orville leaning forward with their left hand on their chin

    Photographer

I’ve been lucky enough to be photographed by the fantastic Sage three times! Maybe we should create a package deal? Sage is masterful at capturing sweet candids and loves to work with couples planning deliberately non-traditional weddings. As their website says, “My work is crisp and community-based with growing nods to street photography.”

  • Venue

The Boylston Rooms may be located in a former textile mill, but now are the pinnacle of Western Massachusetts elegance! I’m lucky enough to be one of their recommended vendors for their Button Weddings, midweek weddings meant to simplify wedding planning for couples.

  • Upstate New York LGBTQ+ Wedding Network

As a resident of the Capital Region of New York state, I’m lucky enough to be a part of the Upstate New York LGBTQ+ Wedding Network, created by photographer Kristen Renee of Kristen Renee Photography. Whether you’re a fellow vendor or a couple planning their wedding, this directory will be an invaluable resource.
